As an early birthday present, the wife got me a Nikon J1 digital camera. It has a slim, minimalist design, huge LCD display and option for interchangeable lenses. This is a huge step up from my Canon Powershot that I've had for years, which really became a dinosaur within the last couple of years.
So far, all the photos on this blog are camera phone shots using my Kin OneM Windows Phone, who many have referred to as my compact or as a skipping stone. Despite the haters, it's been a good phone and a decent camera, though the automatic adding of instagram-like effects (high contrast, vivid color) produces hyper-realistic photos, to a fault.
That era is over. We are on to bigger and better things:
